Hello All,

The pool is finally open! We would like to ask for your help in letting all of our guests know to keep the umbrellas closed when not in use. We have lost a few due to them being left open and damaged by our ever changing winds. They are very expensive and due to the cost of the pool repair, we have ordered one good one which should last us a few years, and one less expensive one, which will hopefully last us a few seasons when we can purchase another commercial one. Also if we can all remind our guests of the rules at the pool. Especially, keeping the gates closed and locked at all times. No horseplay, and no unsupervised children, or children in diapers.

Keys are given to residents only and are not to given to any guests at anytime. Residents are responsible for their guests while using the pool and violations can be reason for denial of entry to pool. Thank you all for your patience during the repairing of the pool deck.

 
 
 
 

Hello All.

Good news! We are having the chemical injection company come out either this Thursday June, 21 or Friday June 22

They will be here about a half a day to inject a foam type of chemical into the voids around the pool deck where needed, which will lift the deck to its original height from where it has dropped. This will need a day or two to dry and on Monday June 25th the pool

Deck repair contractor will be here to fix the broken drain pipes, putting in new drains, (so this will never be a problem again), repair the concrete and replace the pavers. This should take them 4-5 days and if all goes according to plan we can potentially have the pool open as early as the weekend of June 30-July 1. The workers will need the guest parking area across from the pool on Oceans Trace, to be clear of all vehicles to allow the parking of their trucks. Please pass this along to any of your neighbors who may not utilize our website. This needs to be done on the evening of June 20.

Dear Homeowners,

I will attempt to give you a more detailed explanation on where we are with the pool. We have had the engineer from the insurance agency out and she said she will draw up her expert opinion to submit to the insurance company. She informed us she is a few weeks behind in her proposals as she is still working on several homes still affected by the hurricanes. This is the same with all of the engineers we have spoken with.

We have decided to go ahead with our plans to repair the pool at our expense and IF we are covered we can be reimbursed. This will be done by a professional chemical injection company who will inject foam into the many voids under our pool deck. This company is also 3 weeks out as there are several sink holes that they are working on. This company is out of Ocala and is only one of two companies. The other is in Miami and they are backed up even longer. This company assured me if they have any delays in their current jobs or down days they would get us in immediately. After this foam is injected we will proceed with replacing the pool deck and pavers. We are hoping this can all be completed by July 4th but have NO guarantees. We have been working daily with contractors and the insurance company and are doing everything possible to expedite this project and to keep the cost from being passed on to the homeowner.

Update 5/30/18

Dear Neighbors;

Re: Update prospective pool project and timeframe

Wanted to keep everyone informed and give you a guesstimate on repair timeframe.

The Board has been working diligently to get all the repair estimates and contractors in place.

The issue turned out to be a lot more complicated than some loose pavers. If everything goes according to schedule, we would anticipate having the pool open by July 4 th. Will keep you updated as to any unforeseen changes.

Update 5/24/18

Hello neighbors,

I said I will post updates on whats happening with the pool. We having been waiting for the insurance adjuster to send us an engineer, to find the cause of the problem, and to let us know if this will be covered. I have called every day and finally we have a confirmed time. Friday afternoon we will meet with them.

I don’t know how long it will take them to find the cause of the problem, hopefully not as long as it took them to come out. I will post an update when I have information.

As most of you are aware, the pool is closed for safety reasons. We found some cracks in the concrete deck and upon further investigation, found there is a large void under the Deck. We originally thought it was caused by drainage problems, but were unsure, so had to seek professional advice.

At this point, we are waiting to hear back from our insurance adjuster. He is contacting an engineer to determine the cause before deciding if this will be covered by our HOA insurance. I know we are all anxiously awaiting the resolution and re-opening. We are trying to get this fixed as quickly as possible. I’ll post updates when they come available. Perhaps we can have a great Pool Reopening Party when it is finally finished.

  Thank you for the great work residents did on our community cleanup day. So many turned out. Our property has never looked better! What a wonderful place to live with so many people who care about our Townhomes and helping others who aren’t able to themselves. We are proud to call them friends.  
 
 
  Resident cleanup and get together day April 7th 2018. Meet at the pool 10:00am for discussion of priority areas and drinks by the pool after about 3-4pm??  Bring your favorite beverage in plastic cups please. Hope we  have a great turnout.  See ya’ll there.

The City of Daytona Beach Shores, Culture & Entertainment Board sponsors many events every year. There are free concerts at the Pavilion once a month, usually the last Friday of the month.

 Annual events include the “Chili Cookoff “in January, a patriotic event in February, “St Patrick’s Day Pot of Gold“in March, “Taste of the Shores” in May, “End of Summer Bash” the first Friday in September after Labor Day at Crabby Joe’s restaurant on the pier, Oktoberfest at the Pavilion in October and the “Winterfest” Celebration with a Christmas Parade and “Light up the Shores” our annual Christmas tree lighting and Christmas decoration competition.

All our events sellout quickly so watch the Pelican for updates and get your tickets early!

We also have a book club which meets at the Racquet Club bi-monthly from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm. We will be reviewing books selected and announced in the Pelican.

Our annual neighborhood garage sale event is held in the spring usually the first Saturday in March. We send out flyers, email blasts and advertise in the paper.
